Overview
The Van Buren Place Historic District, situated in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, is an esteemed Historic District that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Comprised of Craftsman, Shingle-Craftsman, and Tudor-Craftsman style homes built between 1903 and 1916, the district is located in the 2600 block of Van Buren Place. The area was established by Percy H. Clark, who built six of the homes, adding to the district's historical significance.

The district's inclusion in the National Register Historic District designation is significant in both the areas of community planning and development, as well as architecture. With its unique blend of Craftsman-style homes, the Van Buren Place Historic District offers a glimpse into the area's past and serves as a cherished piece of Los Angeles's architectural heritage.
Architecture
Van Buren Homestead and Garden is a charming two-story single-family residence that has retained much of its original character since its construction in 1902. The house is a unique blend of transitional styles, combining ornate Victorian forms with the more natural and horizontal features of the Craftsman style. Over the last 110 years, the house has undergone few changes, preserving its historical significance and authenticity.
